There are several types of mail order brides and each are popular for their own reasons. Women from developing countries like Asia or Latin America usually are in bad economic situations and are desperate for an escape. However, Russian brides are not desperate and most would rather not leave their country if they had the choice. Russian women simply are the victims of a culture where the female population outnumbers the male. The men in Russia take advantage of the situation and often mistreat the women. These women become mail order brides so they can find a good husband and start a family. Most of the Russian brides are very well educated and many have steady jobs. They are willing to give this up and start over in a new country with a man who will be respectful. Russian women also tend to be very worldly so they do not have problems adjusting to Western life like some other mail order brides. It also doesn’t hurt that Slavic women are incredibly beautiful, which makes them all-around great brides.
