Expressions of my self show up as: a highly intelligent man who is (and has been from small on) unusually inquisitive, creative, sensitive, strongly principled, compassionate, respectful, honest, trustworthy, playful, kind, loyal, and carefully sincere; one who is frequently humbled by the sheer magnificence of creation, comfortable in his own skin, sometimes introspective, secure in his own capacities and yet more genuinely confident in the goodness of nature and of Nature’s design, a perpetual student and not-infrequent teacher, and an exceptional friend; one who in his youth was blessed to discover the preciousness that comes with being a tender, attentive lover and soulfully committed intimate of a woman who knows herself well enough to know that only through our shared surrender to unconditional Love will any of us ever find the truth of our being. Scary as it can sometimes be, I am more passionate about that and the opening of self and trust it requires than I am about anything else because only through our willingness to make that kind of faithful commitment can we truly discover who we are.

I have found delight in the romance of small moments… in the soft light of confidence and security that shines from my love’s eyes when she realizes there is no time for this and thus no end to be concerned about…in the astonishing courage of a spring’s first peeper when it sings out into the cold stillness of a chilly spring night, knowing as it does that it’s own mate will soon enough answer, giving voice and new life as she does to what just moments before was nothing but empty stillness and winter’s frozen remnants…in the stillness of a New England forest just moments before a summer rain, as the trees hush and turn their leaves over, eagerly anticipating the first soft drops that soon fall upon their delicately exposed undersides…in the fragrance such moments release… in the swelling song of birds that begin to sing before sunrise, their music becoming a coruscating crescendo of voices as the light spills its glory into the new brightened day… in the secretively rising heat of passion, the opening grace notes of invitation and then acceptance as they spill their warmth into the quiet exhalations of my lady’s breath, filling her eyes with smoke, and spreading like a brush fire along her limbs. I seek no framed, preconceived expectations of romance when such things as these are to be had merely by giving them my attention with deepest, heartfelt gratitude.

I look forward to meeting the one who knows she’s worthy of being loved unconditionally; she who will flower within the energy of that knowing when met by someone who sees the essential beauty within the grace of her being and who is not distracted or seduced merely by her physical appearance; she who does not become fearful when the sun rises in her lover’s eyes, but instead will meet that light with the loving, joyous, reciprocal gift of her own.

I look forward to meeting she who is unafraid to meet the man who is willing and able to reflect that light of being back to her that she has so carefully hidden and protected throughout her life, but will willingly share when she finally knows it will be cherished and honored as it should be; I look forward to that because I am that man for someone yet unmet. I have so far seen only those who are merely able to Take what is offered because they fear to Accept all that is so freely given. Knowing that I am complete as I am, I seek her who knows the same of herself.

I have no need for control and no desire to be controlled. I do not manipulate and will not be manipulated. I do not tease and am not easily tempted. I am both serious and playful – you will evoke seriousness from me when you’re insincere, and playfulness when playful, faithful, or engaging. I am a fearless defender of innocence; whether when gifted by the purity of a child’s faith or when offered the precious trust of an adult’s confidence, because innocence is essential to love, which I know to be life’s greatest gift and divine in its nature. I wish to share all that is truly valuable with you, not to negotiate over terms of acceptance or principle. Love is not a deal. There is nothing to be gained from it other than itself. It is the gift that gives itself. It knows no parsimony and contemplates no limitations or purposes. It has no objective, being too perfect in its nature to require anything beyond what it already is.

In the kind of relationship I desire, we will not so much seek to find the truths we hold as to uncover That which has been hidden within us, as well as from one another. If you understand this, I really would like to know you, now. Then perhaps we may move from that place of knowing, which we have so far held secretively without ourselves into the discovery of all that remains to be known.
